About the walk

Very pleasant walk with few steep (but not difficult) hills. The peak (550m) sits high above the valleys of the Grwyne Fawr and Grwyne Fechan to the north of the more well-known Sugar Loaf. The views from here across the Black Mountains are wide-ranging making the views just stunning!

Facilities Available

In Llanbedr pub

Accessibility

All of the upper slopes of the hill are designated as open country. A bridleway runs up from the minor road east of Llanbedr and then on northwards to Mynydd Du Forest. The Beacons Way runs across the slopes of the hill between Partrishow and Llanbedr.

Additional Notes

Moderate to easy walk

Why the submitter loves this walk

Because it's just at our doorstep and the whole trail is just breathtaking 🥰 if we don't want to drive and still want to go for 3-4h long walk in the mountains, we will go there. On a beautiful day, we can see our favourite mountains (Sugar Loaf & Table Mountain) and admire the Black Mountains range. If you have more hours to spare – you can go all the way to the Waun Fach (on the Dragon's Back circle!). It's good for joggers too!
