About the walk
Just had the loveliest walk at Waldridge Fell Country Park in Chester-le-Street. We walked the accessible route from the car park around the fell, so it was along a gravel path the whole route – not too muddy! The scenery was beautiful. For a pup with little legs the route was a great length and there were lots of mud tracks leading off into the moorland surrounding the paths – so for those with bigger/older and more active dogs the opportunity for longer walks here seems great. It was about 1.5-2K round walk back to the car, but could have been much further by taking any of the side paths. There was plenty to sniff for the pooches, and beautiful views for the humans. We met about 7 people, and 5 dogs on our walk (we could tell you 4/5 names of the dogs and 0/7 of the people!) and there were lots of others about so maybe not the best walk if your pooch doesn’t like others – although the grass was easy enough to walk on to cut away from oncoming people.
Facilities Available
None specifically for this place but a town less than 10 mins away with cafes, toilets and shops.
Accessibility
We walked the accessible route so this part was easy for chairs and prams.
