About the walk

A real perk of this summit hike is that there is no easy way to get to it, meaning that you may have this one all to yourself! You can approach it from the north via the summits of Bryn and Waun Rydd or from the west by way of Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Fan y Big. And because of that, the ascent varies.

Facilities Available

N/A

Accessibility

Two start-points from the Talybont Reservoir - less steep from the gate across the car park. Much steeper from the horse track (also across the road but 200m to the right)

Additional Notes

The walk is considered as moderate to difficult.

Why the submitter loves this walk

Carn Pica offers a jaw-dropping view of Talybont Reservoir and all our beloved mountains and peaks – Sugar Loaf, Table Mountain, Waun Fach, Pen y Fan, and more! It's an underestimated route which has beautiful wild ponies and beautiful views. We were very lucky to see that all as well as stunning rainbows that kept showing us the route.
