Facilities Available

Lots of bathrooms and water fountains, 13 picnic shelters, grills, playgrounds, fishing, baseball field, volleyball area, boat launch for large boats and fitness area.

Accessibility

Very accessible in general, 2 miles of paved trails and handicapped toilets. Some areas difficult to access with a wheelchair.

Additional Notes

Be advised there are lots of large alligators at this park and you need to watch out for them, especially in winter months!! Make sure to keep dogs, especially small ones, well away from water's edge. Dogs must be on-leash, and 6-ft leashes are required on paved trail due to bicycle use.

Why the submitter loves this walk

This is an amazing and shady park with options for paved or wooded trails with lots of wildlife. Shade and trees are so important in the Florida heat. Annie loves all the squirrels, smells and tortoises, and we also enjoy the lakes and trees. There are swings at different points around the lakes for a relaxing break and beautiful views. This park also offers opportunities for gorgeous sunsets and nature photography.
