About the walk

A flat circular walk around the perimeter of Sywell reservoir- this is one of our go-to-walks during the week. No matter what the weather, the view is always stunning and you won't get muddy on a rainy day either! With different bird hides to stop off at along the route, there are plenty of opportunities to take a moment to be still and watch the world go by. The walk itself is very pleasant and takes in both woodland areas and the reservoir itself plus views of the countryside too.

Facilities Available

The toilets are open from 7am to 7pm daily. The Pump House Cafe is open daily, except for Christmas Day. Activities available for children inside the Cafe. There is also a sand and water play area located in an old water filtration bed from when the park was a water supply reservoir, a butterfly garden and a wildlife pond.

Accessibility

The trails are mostly hard-surfaced with seats and/or resting places every 200 metres.

Additional Notes

Can get busy at the weekends- overflow carpark is available.

Why the submitter loves this walk

The mix of historical and natural attractions makes this a versatile walking spot. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead near the water to protect local bird species.
