š± Since starting Charlieās Instagram account, I have realised just how much I enjoy taking photographs of nature. For me, the photos are an extension of the mindful lens which I use to notice all the moments of joy when we go on our walks. They help to elongate the benefits of mindfulness long after I get home. I have an album on my phone simply named āJust relaxā and this is my go-to folder for when I need a bit of calm, no matter where I am. Just looking through this album takes me back to that place and evokes positive and calm memories which are both grounding and a helpful distraction.
ā° What fascinates me is that no two photos are ever the same. The differences might only be fractional but it is impossible to take two photos in the same moment so each one captures a different moment in time. I love that!
šLooking at a photograph you love can provide you with a sense of calm, a form of escapism, a feeling of comfort, a type of healing and evoke a range of emotions. Each image tells a unique story and can be read in a multitude of ways. Photos can help you to reflect and learn more about yourself.
āļøThis photo is full of analogies and reminders for me⦠a reminder that brighter days are ahead, calm follows a storm, thoughts are like clouds and will always pass through, life is a reflection of what we allow ourselves to see and when the mind is still, clarity can be found.
š£Photos are a powerful way of connecting, no matter which language we speak. Images can bring us together and can spark conversations. They can provide a form of communication during difficult times, when the right words cannot be found. If you know someone who is struggling, send them a photo you know will make them smile and simply say āI saw this and I thought of you.ā One photo and one sentence can carry so much meaning. It can make someoneās day a little brighter.
